PAST EVENT: On July 12th, 2017, the INS welcomed Wendell Cox to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).

Wendell is an American urban planner, academic, and Professor at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris. Wendell spoke about California’s anti-suburban growth policies and how the lessons learned could impact the GTHA.

PAST EVENT: On July 12th, 2017, prior to the presentation by Wendell Cox, Dave Hardy - the Executive Director of the INS - gave a presentation on what the INS is and the goals of New Suburbanism.

During this presentation, Dave discussed the five defining elements of New Suburbanism and how narrativies can be changed to better reflect the balance of urban, suburban, and rural areas.

PAST EVENT: On October 12th, 2016, the INS welcomed Judith DeJong, Associate Dean and Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Judith shared inspiring design ideas for revitalizing the suburbs and presented several designs to stimulate group discussions.
